As part of the Svätý Mikuláš festivities this year, SASW is pleased to offer for sale traditional Slovak foods, as well as evergreen table centerpieces, all made by Danka (“the gingerbread lady”). All food and centerpiece orders must be placed by 10pm on Sunday, November 28, and payment must be made in advance. Pick-up will take place in Arlington, VA (at a venue just off Rt. 66), on party day, December 5, well before the party begins.
THERE WILL BE NO LAST-MINUTE SALES ON PICK-UP DAY.
On offer:
“Dinner plate” (2 schnitzels [1 pork, 1 chicken] and Slovak potato salad) – $12
Kapustnica (sauerkraut-and-smoked-meat Christmas soup, 24 oz.) – $8
Makovník (poppyseed roll) – $9
Orechovník (nut roll) – $9
“Mixed cookie plate” (6 kinds of cookies, 2 of each) – $10
Greenery centerpiece (vase not included) – $10
How to order:
- Send an email to Marta Szotaková at mszotakova@dcslovaks.org, with your choice of food items and centerpieces, and their quantities. ORDERS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 10PM ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 28.
- Marta will confirm your order and the total cost, and give you instructions on how to pay, via either PayPal or by check.
- Once payment has been made, Marta will give you the pick-up location.
- Pick-ups will take place on Sunday, December 5 (between 11:00am and 12:30pm), in Arlington, VA, in plenty of time to enjoy your food during the party (if you can wait that long).
