Certified Genealogist Pam Anderson will discuss her 2014 research and trip to western Slovakia to meet her Slovak family. She grew up knowing that her grandparents were from Nitra, “Czechoslovakia,” about 60 miles east of Bratislava, but she did not know that her family still lived there, where they were, or how to find them. Combining online records and a Slovak tour company – and chance – she met her father’s first cousins and her second cousins. Pam will tell the story of her preparations, the trip, and the results of meeting Slovak relatives.

Pam Anderson is the owner of Anderson CoGen in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, National Genealogical Society, New England Historical and Genealogical Society, New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, and the Maryland Genealogical Society. She is also the secretary of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania. Pam has written articles for, and given presentations to, many of these and other local organizations.
